What is call points?

A call point, also known as an emergency call point or a panic point, is a device that can be used to request assistance in the event of an emergency. Call points are typically found in public areas, such as schools, hospitals, airports, and shopping centers. They are often located near exits and in areas that are easily accessible.

Call points are usually made up of a simple push-button mechanism, which when pressed initiates an alarm signal or a call for assistance. The alarm signal may be an audible alarm, such as a bell or siren, or it may be a visual alarm, such as a flashing light. In some cases, the call point may also feature an intercom or a speaker system which allows the individual making the call to communicate directly with an operator or emergency services personnel.

Call points are an important tool in emergency preparedness and can help to ensure that help is quickly and efficiently dispatched in the event of an emergency. They are often included as part of a wider emergency response system, which may also include fire alarms, smoke detectors, and other safety equipment.
